It is my opinion that a good counselor/therapist will not only listen to our problems, but teach us life skills to cope with crisis, manage flashbacks, build self esteem, fix our body image, change our negative beliefs and thoughts, understand relationships, and so much more. The abuse skews our opinions of so many things in our lives. We need more than just laying on some Ph.D.’s couch and talking about whats wrong. We need to learn how to make things right.
Are you in counseling/therapy? Are you being taught life skills? Are you learning how to take your life back and make it your own? Do you feel your counseling is successful? If not, why not?
